Romans 8:32 (NLT)
Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
For most of us, when we were little, we didn’t really worry about basic necessities like food, clothes, or where money was going to come from to pay bills. As children, it wasn’t our job to be concerned with such things. We asked for what we wanted from our parents or older adults and siblings around us. And in our mind, it was their responsibility to get it.
God is the same way. He doesn’t want us to worry about how He’s going to work something out or how He’s going to provide for our needs. He wants us to have a childlike faith and trust that He has everything under control. All we have to do is trust and pray. God has the hard job of providing for all the people in the world; we have a fairly easy job of trusting wholeheartedly and praying believingly.
God loved you enough to give up His Son so you can have hope and eternal life. If He can do that, don’t you think He loves you enough to provide for your needs, heal your relationships, bless your finances, and give you wisdom to make good decisions? Can you believe Him to give you everything else you’ve ever dreamed of?
God who knows and sees all things is interested in each and every person in the world. He knows what you need; He just wants you to ask Him for it. Asking proves your trust. It proves that you believe in God so much that you trust He will give you what you need. And you know what? God is delighted when we trust Him.
“Trust is not a passive state of mind. It is a vigorous act of the soul by which we choose to lay hold on the promises of God and cling to them despite the adversity that at times seeks to overwhelms us.”
