Crowned with Love (365 Days of Daring Faith – DAY 16)

Psalm 103:4 (NLT)
He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.

Do you ever ask yourself what people would think if they ever found out about your past — secrets, hurts, and heartbreaks? Do you wonder what it would feel like, what kind of emotional state you would be in, if someone shined a light on all the bad parts of your life?

It would be awful. Even heart wrenching to relive those hurtful parts all over again. But you know what — God has shined a light over all those things. God has chosen not to embarrass us but to embrace us. He did this by sending His Son, Jesus, to shed His blood for our sins.

No more shame. No need to feel guilty or vulnerable. No need to hide. It is all covered under the blood and we are crowned in His love and mercy. Yes, you and me, sinful and undone as we are — we are wearing crowns of love.

God has redeemed our souls. He has saved us from death and destruction by the power of His dear Son. We can be truly happy and fully loved in Him. Just imagine replacing the sting of death with a glorious crown of love. This is what God did for us. And it is so beautiful to imagine and experience.

“God loves each of us as if there were only one of us.”
