Recession-proof Christian Life
The market for healthy seed (sperm/ovary eggs) free of hereditary illness becomes more viable as the "UK approves in vitro fertilization using two women and a man ... claiming "three parent" babies are intended to prevent certain fatal genetic diseases.” CNN reports.
Leviticus 18:21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD. 22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
God ordained marriage, the home and cohabitation between man (male) and woman (female) as the environment for children to not just be born, but to be taught and developed as assets within a society. In biblical times, children – often babies were deliberately cultivated – and “sold” to heathen temples for child sacrifices, creating a market … in the worship of false gods.
In contemporary times, evil sacrifice of children is “correctly” masked by the legalisation and prevalence of abortions. The commercialisation of the seed of mankind has created new ethical questions even as new social disguises hide the targeted ultimate outcome – prevalence of children that are not protected within the traditional family structure – one father and one mother, each playing their role. Consider the surly outcome of a potential conflict between two women who are biological mothers of a single child.
Offering seed to produce children outside the word of God is sacrifice of those children by their parents to other idols. Wealth or satisfaction, derived by selling your seed or renting out your womb, can be related to an evil influence or false object of worship and devotion.
In developing countries, where unfortunately, the stigma of not having children can be almost unbearable, more desperate solutions are not uncommon. A recent documentary on Al-Jazeera featured a baby factory in Nigeria i.e. an enterprise dedicated to make babies available to couples through commercial contracts where cash strapped women are made pregnant in camps by virile men (not artificial insemination) … and babies handed over to a long waiting list of couples offering generous prepayments to middlemen. Only God knows what else goes on in poorer communities where people are now being easily lured to sell human organs, even as mankind seeks for reliefs, joys and satisfactions through any means ...ultimately in profanity of the word of God.
The word of God is not against science or medical breakthroughs to enhance reproductive health, but some short cuts such as this, ostensibly aimed at improving the health of babies by a third female donor is akin to a type of polygamy, for want of an expression yet to be coined for a child with two biological mothers and a father. Science and medicine seems to have no boundaries … everything is for grabs – as long as the mind can execute its actualisation, and it seems right. In vitro fertilization or any blaze of laboratory innovation aiming to raise children outside marriage between single male and single female, potentially strays into heathen territory and idolatry … “fires of Molech.”
In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes. - Judges 17:6
A “Hannah” somewhere is reading this post. As God changed Hannah’s story, my prayer is that yours will also change. You will no more be termed “barren” but instead called a mother of many. I encourage you to wait on your God, repent, return to Him and starve your doubts. Your cries are heard. God still hears prayers.
